Northern Michigan University Graduates:

Sincere congratulations on all of your achievements! We are here to make it the most beautiful and memorable ceremony experience possible with the finest caps and gowns, tassels, and hoods available to Northern Michigan University students. 

Our commencement regalia is made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. In the effort to increase environmental responsibility, the line of graduation wear - named GreenWeaver^® - is made of fabric spun from molten plastic pellets. Fewer plastic bottles will be choking our landfills because an average of 23 plastic bottles is used to manufacture every cap and gown.

Honor Cords: To qualify for this recognition a student must have earned the following NMU cumulative GPA at the end of his or her final semester prior to earning the degree.

• Summa Cum Laude 3.90 - 4.00
• Magna Cum Laude 3.75 - 3.89
• Cum Laude 3.50 - 3.74
• High Honors: 3.80 - 4.00
• Honors: 3.50 - 3.79
